Deepal Shaw who is also known as Baby doll, gave a spin to old songs and has also acted in a few movies.

Deepal Shaw was born on 21st February 1986 in Mumbai, India. Her parents come form Uttar Pradesh. She has a brother. She studied at DPYA High School and completed her degree in Psychology from St Xavier's College. She worked as a model and was even a participant in the Miss India contest held in 2004.

Deepal Shaw entered the music scene as Baby Doll. Her songs were mostly remixes of old Bollywood songs. Her first album was Baby Doll and the second was Baby Doll Chapter 2. Deepal Shah was signed for Daag - The Shades of Love which was not released. Mahesh Bhatt's Kalyug with Emraan Hashmi became her first release in 2005. She had small parts in Chamku (2008) and A Wednesday (2008). The year 2009 saw her in Karma Confessions and Holi that ended as a flop. Her next release is an Irrfan Khan starrer Tumse.

Shaw was born and raised in Mumbai, Maharashtra, to parents originally from Uttar Pradesh. She studied in D.P.Y.A. High School, Dadar. Her mother was born in Lucknow, while her father was born in Ayodhya. She has a younger brother. As a child, her parents encouraged her to sing, first giving her lessons when she was only six years old. She attended St. Xavier's College, where she pursued a BA in Psychology.

Riding the waves of her burgeoning music career, Shaw decided to parlay her success into a career in Bollywood. She signed on to act in Hriday Shetty's Daag - The Shades of Love. However, the project was shelved shortly thereafter.

She made her acting debut in Mahesh Bhatt's controversial Kalyug, opposite Emraan Hashmi and fellow-newcomer Kunal Khemu. Portraying a porn star, Shaw's first role was generally appreciated by critics.

In December 2005, she finished filming on her second venture, Karma, Confessions and Holi, directed by Manish Gupta. The international, English-language film also stars Sushmita Sen, Randeep Hooda, and Naomi Campbell, and is set for release in October 2006.
